Working with cosmetics at Superdrug means my makeup wishlist is more than likely to double every so often. I find myself swatching like there’s no tomorrow (seriously, you should see what my hand looks like an hour into my shift) and finding products that I probably wouldn’t have gone near had I not worked at Superdrug. So here I am to inspire you to buy more makeup (naughty me) with my lovely Superdrug haul.
GOSH #Foundation Drops – 010 Tan, £12.99.
At the time I bought this, this foundation was on offer for £9.99. The original price I think is a tad unreasonable for drugstore, but I was intrigued to try this nonetheless. I know, the first thing that springs to mind when you look at this product is ‘Cover FX Custom Cover Drops?!’. But alas, the only thing these products have in common is the packaging. I’m really gutted about the shade range. Since purchasing I have worn this foundation and it’s a little light for my skin tone which is a bummer since I picked up the darkest shade. Besides that I really do like the foundation and can’t wait to wear it more!
GOSH Foundation Brush, £6.99.
Since the foundation brush was on offer too it was only fitting to purchase it alongside the foundation. What caught my eye about this foundation brush is how dense the bristles are. Something about this foundation brush is so special. It feels like silk!
L’Oreal True Match Foundation – 6.5w Golden Toffee, £9.99.
I bought this when it was on offer for £7.99. I noticed L’Oreal had repackaged their well loved foundation so it got me wondering whether they had reformulated it (I had a bad experience with this foundation years ago). I like the new look of the True Match Foundations but I have to say, L’Oreal have definitely compromised function over form. Although the packaging looks lovely and sleek, the pump is below average. Every time you push the pump down to release product, it gets stuck (just thought it would be something worth mentioning!). I love how they’ve separated the foundations into categories following cool, neutral and warm undertone. I’m not sure whether I’m a fan of the shade range however. 6.5w is too Orange for me yet the two lighter shades before it are too pink/peach toned. It doesn’t make sense to me! Since wearing this foundation and mixing it with my GOSH #Foundation Drops however, I really like it and get on with it better than I used to.
Sleek Blush by 3 Palette – Lace, £9.99.
I’ve never really been a blush girl. Having said that, lately I’ve been feeling like something is missing from my face when I’m all done up. I thought it’d be a good idea to invest in some blushes. What better brand for blushes than Sleek? Sleek are one of my favourite drugstore brands. I am obsessed with their palettes and their high quality pigmentation. This blush palette in Lace has gorgeous colours for tanned skin tones. I do love the look of the first shade. Here’s to adding more colour to my face!
Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow – Creme De Nude 93, £4.99.
Maybelline have added two new shades to their Color Tattoo collection, Creme De Rose and Creme De Nude. Creme De Rose is a soft Matte Pink colour whereas Creme De Nude is a Matte Cream. Finally! My heart screamed with joy when I discovered these shades. I had wanted to purchase a Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow to use as an every day eyeshadow base, but none of them were completely Matte. Much to my surprise, Maybelline answered my prayers! Creme De Nude looks extremely similar to Soft Ochre by MAC, so I’ll be interested to see if we have a possible dupe (I’ll report back on that!).
Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick – Nude Embrace, £6.99.
The perfect Matte Nude lipstick. Need I say more? I became obsessed with this as soon as I swatched it in store. It’s always hard to find good Matte lipsticks in the drugstore, let alone matte Nude lipsticks! I took advantage of the ‘buy one get second half price’ offer and purchased this with the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow. I’m extremely happy with this purchase and I think I can relax knowing I’ve finally found an affordable yet decent Nude lipstick.
Collection Contour Kit, £3.99.
I’m loving all these contour kits drugstore brands have been releasing lately and I snatched this one up when it was on offer for £2.79. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m excited to put it to the test! I have swatched it however and I can tell you I’m disappointed with the highlight shade, but hey can you complain for the price?
GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliner – 018 I Sea You, £4.99.
Can we just take a moment? This eyeliner screams MAC Undercurrent at me and they look almost identical when swatched together. I had fallen in love with Undercurrent the moment I watched Tanya Burr’s Haifa Wehbe Inspired Makeup Look but couldnt bring myself to spend so much on an eyeliner, so I opted for this little gem by GOSH and I’m so glad I did! It’s gorgeous on the lower lash line and I can’t wait to play around with it more!
Note: You may notice there are no links to some products. Unfortunately, I cannot find the links for them online. Since they’re relatively new, no one has updated the website with these products. You will definitely find them in store though!
What makeup products have you got your peepers on? Let me know!
Take care my lovelies,
