Kylie Jenner Inspired Makeup Look (Pictorial Included!)

Bonjourrrr girlies,

I’ve seen a lot of love for Kylie Jenner’s makeup recently, ever since she upgraded herself (haha). I, happen to be a fan of her makeup. So I decided to took inspiration and tried to create a look similar to hers. I am a little disappointed with myself I must say, as it doesn’t look as good on camera as it did in person, but I thought I would still upload it for your guys. There’s always next time I guess! TRIAL AND ERROR, TRIAL AND ERROR.

It is a pretty basic look but very enticing. As someone had suggested they would like to see more pictorials, I took this opportunity to show you, if you’re interested!

Below I have included a pictorial and I will talk you through what I did:

Step 1: Before I start, you’re probably thinking wtf is that under her eye?! I know it looks very strange. But this is called the dropcloth technique. When you apply eyeshadow, it is important to apply a generous amount of loose translucent powder, to catch eyeshadow fallout. I applied eyeshadow primer before applying my foundation and concealer, to prevent creasing and ensure the longevity of the eyeshadow as well as maximum pigmentation. I also filled my eyebrows in slightly different, in attempt to get Kylie’s wonderful arch. But, you don’t have to do this if you don’t feel the need to. After applying a generous amount of translucent powder, I went ahead and highlighted my brow bone with a matte white shadow.

Step 2: In step 2, I applied a matte beige-nude all over the lid up reaching up to the brow bone and blended. This is fairly important to help colours transition seamlessly.

Step 3: As you can see in step 3, I went ahead an applied a rich copper tone shadow over where I applied the matte nude shadow. I’ve seen Kylie wearing this shade of colour a lot, as well as more gold/bronze colours. However, I liked this the most. How can I almost forget, I blendedddd!

Step 4: In Step 4 I applied a highlight colour to the inner corner of my eye, extending a little around my tear duct; to open up the eyes and give a little brightness to the dark copper look.

Step 5: In Step 5 I decided to apply liquid eyeliner, as Kylie wears liquid eyeliner most of the time to pull her look together (quite subtle to give her lashes the appearance of more volume). Here I just started with a thin line from the inner corner of my eye, to the outer corner. Merely lining the lash-line. Note: Before this I tightlined my eyes with a black gel liner. (This is optional, but I just do this as it really bugs me seeing my tightline exposed when I wear makeup!)

Step 6: I tried to make my eyeliner more straight rather than curved, as I have seen Kylie wear her eyeliner like this. As she has quite wide (and very pretty!) eyes, this enhances it more so. I thought I would do it a little less winged out then Kylie has hers though, as I thought this would be too much (for some reason) haha. Tip: For getting the perfect winged liner that matches both eyes, draw a line from the outer corner of your eye upwards. I also went over the coppery tone shadow as I felt it looked too washed out. Again, blending is key as we don’t want this looking too harsh, but just enough to create a sultry look to the eyes.

Step 7: In Step 7 I simply went with a dark brown shadow and lined the bottom of my lower lash-line with it. I also went in with an extra thin brush and a matte black and lined it as close to the bottom lash-line as much as possible. I then blended it with my little finger.

Step 8: I then lined my waterline with a white eyeliner pencil. I feel this is really important as it draws the look together even moreso, as well as opening up your eyes! Also, if you take a look at some of Kylie Jenner’s Instagram pictures, you’ll notice that her waterline is visible majority of the time. I also sweeped away the translucent powder with my buffing brush as I had finished with the eyeshadow . No eyeshadow smudges where the eyeshadow fell! IT WORKS GIRLS.

Step 9: Ah, the final step, my favourite bit! APPLY YO MASCARA GUUURL. I almost gave up with this look until I applied the miracle lash extender (mascara). I feel it made the look come to life!

After this I had just applied a bronzer with orange/peachy undertones, highlighter and applied a mixture of lip products in attempt to achieve her signature lip colour! It kind of failed, but hopefully soon I can find a colour very similar to hers as I don’t at the moment! You can see this in the featured image .
